Award Classes Lifeguard Courses

During the school holidays we offer the opportunity for our swimmers to take part in the ASA award scheme. This is a wonderful opportunity for the swimmer to consolidate many of the skills they have mastered during their lessons and gain a great sense of achievement. The courses take place over three mornings during the holidays and the awards available include:

Challenge 1: This entails swimming 50m front crawl, 50m of backstroke and 50m of freestyle (not continuously).

 

Challenge 2: This requires the ability to swim 100m front and 100m backstroke continuously.

 

Bronze: This requires 100m on front, 100m back & 200m freestyle continuously.

 

Silver: This requires 800m which is a mix of swimming on front and back. 

 

Gold: This requires 800m consisting of 200m front, 200m back, 200m breaststroke and 200m freestyle in 25 minutes.

 

Honours: This entails 950m consisting of 200m front crawl, 200m backstroke, 50m butterfly and 500m freestyle in 20 minutes.

 

The above awards also require some other basic swimming skills which are covered throughout the award course.

Monday - Wednesday 18th - 20th February

Challenge 1 & 2:  9.00am - 9.30am
Bronze - 9.30am:  10.00am
Silver, Gold and Honours:  10.00am - 10.45am
Price - £22.00 & £4.00 for cloth badge, pin badge and certificate
