Terms & Conditions for Rookie lifeguard

Terms & Conditions:
1. The club ‘Rookie Lifeguard’ is suitable for the swimmer who can swim at least 50 metres confidently, with a recognisable stroke and who can tread water for at least 1 minute. Aqua Zone has the right to decline a place if in their opinion a child is not able to satisfy these pre requisites or places others in danger due to their inability to meet the pre requisite.
2. Rookie members will be aged 8 to 12 years old but Aqua Zone may offer a place to any child outside of these age limits at their discretion. However, all swimmers must comply with Term 1.
3. The current dates and times are advertised on the Aqua Zone noticeboard and website as well as via Facebook. Parents will be notified of any cancellations. In the event of a cancellation Rookie Lifeguard Club will offer an alternative date. This term relates to instructor illness, weather conditions or any short term issue resulting in the cancellation of a session.
4. Termly fees are paid in advance. Fees or part of will not be refunded for absence or holidays except at Aqua Zone’s discretion.
5. St Edward’s School and Aqua Zone expressly point out that all persons who become members do so at their own risk. St Edward’s School and Aqua Zone cannot be held responsible for any illness or injury resulting from over exertion or aggravation of a medical condition caused by such use.
6. St Edward’s School is designated a No Smoking area.
7. St Edward’s School and Aqua Zone cannot be held responsible for loss or damage to vehicles and personal property while on St Edward’s Pool premises.
8. Diving into the pool from the sides is forbidden but acceptable from the deep end only.
9. All Rookie Lifeguards will be introduced to safe and acceptable standards of behaviour in and out of the water. Any Rookie who fails to follow these instructions may be asked to leave the club.
10. Aqua Zone reserves the right to terminate without notice the membership of any member without reason. It shall be the sole discretion of Aqua Zone whether or not all or part of the fee is refundable in such circumstances.
11. Any member who wishes to discontinue should notify Aqua Zone. In such circumstances Aqua Zone may in their sole discretion, refund a portion thereof.
12. Aqua Zone reserves the right to vary at any time the rules, membership and fee payable, the dates and times and the facilities available. In addition, St Edward’s School may be closed for maintenance work, redecoration, specified functions or for any other circumstances when the School may think it necessary to close the pool. There being no obligation to make any refund of subscription or any fee payable under the terms. Members will be notified by Aqua Zone of any changes as soon as possible. This term relates to the inability to use the pool due to St Edward’s School. This is separate to Term 3.
13. Upon taking out membership, members must accept these terms and conditions and agree to be bound by them.
